Basic Oilfield Operations Training Description
This 16-hour course will cover:
Sucker Rod Pumping Principles
Beam Pumping Units
Production Separator Principles
Emulsions and Heat Treater Principles
Lease Tank Gauging and Testing
Centrifugal Pump Principles
Positive Displacement Pumping
Basic Dynograph Interpretation
Vapor Recovery Unit Principles
Basic dynamometer card interpretation
Basic Pump Off Controller (POC) operations
Each topic will be covered using the former ARCO Oil and Gas Company BOTS Training Series. Manuals will be used along with video instruction. Classroom discussion will enhance the exchanged of ideas and clarify the processes. A test will be given at the end of each module.
The course assumes that the student has limited experience with the topics covered and that they have a basic understanding of fluid flow, temperature, and pressure. At the completion of this course, the student will be able to explain operating principles, identify major parts of oilfield operations equipment, and explain how oilfield fluids move and are treated for effective separation of oil.
Albert Salas Garza Sr., has accumulated almost four decades of oilfield experience from lease operations, production, to technical supervisor. Other areas include daily lease operations management, oil well rod pumping systems, and well controls.
